Too narrow
Originally posted on Home Tester Club
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for a replacement for my Hyperion 2's and really wanted to love these, but they hurt my feet moments after I put them on. They felt narrow and put pressure through the lateral foot. I bought these to run in, but I took them out for a walk and the pain only got worse. I have never had any issue with shoe width, but these just didn't fit my feet well. Unfortunately, I had to send them back.

Not what I expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I did have to return these after a 5 mile run. I read all the reviews before buying. This I do appreciate from Brooks. I’m still completely emotionally unstable since I’ve hated every Hyperion Max that came out since the 2’s that were my favorite and the light of my life and thought I’d try a light and responsive shoe by Brooks. It’s squishy. Dreadfully squishy. Like your foot sinking into slime. No energy return. My Achilles flared up about mile 3. I may have to go back to the Hyperion max when they get a new shoe design that isn’t awful. I really wanted to love this shoe. I will say the toe box was roomy enough and I did like that!

Good with some improvements needed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the overall fit and feel of the shoe when I put it on. It is a pretty responsive ride however I do think it could be a bit smoother transition with more spring. If you are a heel striker this probably is not for you. I feel the best in these shoes when running faster and my cadence is quicker. Not a slower recovery shoe, at least for me.

Comfy fun shoe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are super comfy! I have tried them on a treadmill and outdoors, and find that they are especially good for endurance runs- i ran my longest distance in these! I am relatively new to running and usually run in a shoe with a little support (Hyperion max 2 and GTS 2 my faves), but these were suggested by the “shoe finder”, and so far so good to have them in my closet! Love the fun purple too!

Good shoe!

Overall a good shoe but I find the glycerin flex is a little more comfortable for me personally. I ordered the same size I always do and it fit perfect

Good addition to the Ghost line

She liked the different color options as well. When she runs they feel like they’re supporting her foot well better than her previous shoes.

Fun springy ride
Originally posted on Home Tester Club
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Ghost 👻 Amp is a new road shoe with a fun, springy, responsive ride and new innovative technology. The Ghost Amp doesn’t have a plate, but uses a new midsole foam, DNA HYPE, and SpringRamp technology to mimic the bouncy, propulsive toe-offs found in plated shoes. This shoe is lightweight, and lower drop (6mm), and has a breathable warp-knit upper, perfect for the hot, humid Nebraska summers! I’ve got narrower, overall lower volume feet, and these shoes fit true-to-size, and I had plenty of space in terms of toe box width and plenty of cushioning in the heel. I used these for running and walking on pavement, lifting and indoor/outdoor bootcamp classes and they felt great, and the springy ride was super fun! The outsole has plenty of traction, but I’d recommend sticking to pavement, treadmill, or fitness classes versus gravel running or trails. If you’re looking to add a daily trainer with a peppy feel, and added bonus of cute colors, try the Brooks Ghost Amp! Thanks to Brooks Running and ExpertVoice to setting me up with the opportunity to test this shoe for free!

Hurt feet
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
I really wanted to like these shoes but unfortunately they did not work for my feet. I decided to take them out for a light run and by the end of it I had a blister on each heel and the bottom of my feet hurt. I'm giving 3 stars because the return process was so easy and fast. I am going to give brooks another try and order a different shoe to see if they work better for my feet.

Should Have Bought Much Sooner
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. Very comfortable as I continue to train for November. Fits me just right with just enough cushion. Had run my last marathon on a pair of Ghost 14s. Wish I bought them sooner as the pair of sneakers I bought in January from a different brand I believe attributed to an injury or at least didn't help.

The cushioned upgrade your feet will thank you for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the chance to wear the new Brooks Ghost Amp, and I can confidently say I’m stoked on this evolution of the Ghost. The moment I put them on, that nitrogen‑infused DNA HYPE cushioning hit me, your foot feels like it’s getting hugged by a tiny, overly enthusiastic marshmallow that refuses to let go. I spend a lot of time on my feet walking and working on concrete floors, and I had zero foot fatigue by the end of the day. The upper felt instantly familiar as someone who’s worn Ghosts for years, and the laces are fantastic, they stayed tied like they actually understood the assignment. Overall, the shoe felt breathable and the lightly cushioned tongue stayed in place well. On the track, the shoe had a great balance of stack height and forward propulsion. It felt lightweight, smooth, and never clunky. Overall, this is a seriously fun update to the Ghost lineup, and I’m pumped to keep it in my rotation. I can recommend it to anyone looking for a daily shoe to put in miles on the pavement and likes a bit of cushion. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Happy Medium Between Daily Trainer and Super Shoe
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. The Brooks Ghost Amp fit true to size compared with other Brooks models, and I was impressed by how quickly they felt comfortable. It took less than an hour for the shoes to feel broken in and well-shaped to my feet. The attached tongue helped keep my foot secure, although I noticed a little more pressure across the top of my foot than I’m accustomed to. On the run, the SpringRamp technology struck a really nice balance for a daily trainer. It’s noticeably less propulsive than the carbon plate in the Hyperion Elite, but there’s still plenty of energy return at toe-off. For me, that makes the Ghost Amp feel more appropriate for everyday training rather than a shoe that only really shines when you’re racing. The DNA HYPE foam provides more cushioning than I generally prefer, but I never felt disconnected from the ground. There was enough cushioning to make longer efforts and time on my feet comfortable while still giving me a good sense of what my feet were doing. Stability was excellent for me at both easy and faster paces. One of the biggest surprises was how versatile the Ghost Amp was off the run. I’ve been wearing them to work, where I spend much of the day on my feet, and they remained comfortable throughout the day. My walking stride is noticeably different from my running stride—I’m a midfoot striker when I run—so it’s rare for me to find a shoe that feels genuinely comfortable for both walking and running. The Ghost Amp comes about as close as I’ve found. That versatility is also influencing how I plan to use them in my rotation. I could see the Ghost Amps being perfect to change into after the first few hours of an ultra endurance run, when I know my feet will appreciate the additional cushioning and comfort. Overall, I’ve been very happy with the Ghost Amp. I’d recommend it to runners who want to improve their performance and get some energy and responsiveness from their daily trainer without committing to a full-on super shoe. It’s comfortable, stable, versatile, and energetic enough to make everyday miles feel enjoyable while still being practical for long days on your feet.

Brooks Ghost Amp Review
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Ghost Amp quickly became a go-to shoe for me for runs, walks, and everyday errands. One of my favorite things about it is how lightweight it feels, especially when wearing it for longer periods of time. The cushioning is responsive without feeling overly soft, and I could really feel the cushioning under my feet with each step. The ride felt smooth and comfortable, particularly on road runs. The shoe was true to size, although I found the toe box to be a little smaller, so runners who prefer more room up front may want to keep that in mind. I’ve put a lot of use into these shoes so far, primarily on roads, and I’ve been impressed with how well the quality has held up. They have transitioned easily from running to walking and everyday wear, which makes them a versatile option. I would recommend the Ghost Amp to runners and active individuals looking for a lightweight, responsive shoe that can handle both workouts and everyday activities. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

Brooks Ghost Amp Review
Originally posted on brooksrunning.com
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that Brooks designed this uptempo daily trainer with the Ghost Amp. There were a lot of things I really liked about this sneaker, and others that took some time to get used to. That said, I have no doubts that the 2nd version will shake out the niggles. Let’s start with the points for improvement. This is quite personal, but I feel that the thick padding around the heel is a bit too much and between that aspect and where the shoe landed on my heel, I ended up getting blisters on my heels after the first could of uses (so definitely recommend breaking in with longer socks). At first I, I thought it could have to do with the fact that I sized up to an 8 when I am right on the borderline between 7.5-8. However, I ran with a heel lock lace tie and still had this issue (the laces are a bit short to comfortably perform a heel lock lace tie). I think the shoe is just quite stiff out of the box. That said, after about 25-30 miles, my foot adjusted much more to the shoe and it was not an issue. Because of the tight heel lock, I would recommend a thumb hole to pull the shoe on from the back and optimize the shoe on/off experience. My other suggestion for version 2 of this shoe is to focus on the outsole grip. I tested these shoes in rain and on slick roads, and in those situations, I did not feel that I had full control over my running. Despite these recommendations, I will say that the more I used the Brooks Ghost Amp, the more I enjoyed the sneakers. As a mid-foot striker, I love the toe-off, which is accompanied by a slight rocker and SpringRamp technology. I took these shoes on several >10 mile workouts and marathon pace runs, and they always rose to the occasion. In fact, on my easy runs, I was actually running my typical moderate pace, but it felt easy in these shoes. I will take that all day! As a Sales Associate at a specialty running store, I look forward to discussing the best use cases for these shoes with customers. The foam/underfoot was really a treat. The DNA HYPE foam is a clear differentiator of this shoe as it feels cushiony, but not too soft. It is just enough cushion to absorb the impact of fast paces without sinking into the shoe too much ahead of your next stride. As I side note, I like the look of this shoe, both with the Brooks branding etched into the inner side stitching and with the bright color ways. Overall, while it took me some miles to warm up to these shoes, they are now easily part of my weekly rotation. I would recommend them to road runners who are looking for something more responsive.
