Just Didn’t Work For Me

Originally posted on Home Tester Club

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Man, I wanted to love these so bad. I’ve been wearing the Glycerin Flex and they felt fantastic except I needed a wider toe box. So I switched to these. The problem is just overall performance and fit for me. For fit, the toe box was TOO wide and the performance felt heavy. I ended up with right knee and heel pain. I haven’t experienced that level of discomfort since switching to my Brooke from ASICS. I have initiated my return and ordered the Glycerin 25. Hopefully that will be the magic potion.

Good fit for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I knew these ran narrow because of runrepeat specs (great site btw), so I ordered an extra wide. They do indeed run narrow. However, the width and length in the 9.5 extra wide are perfect for me. The extra wide in the ghost max 3 had too much fabric so I skipped that model (I liked 1 and 2). For people complaining of the show running narrow, order a wide or extra wide and problem solved. I do wish Brooks would provide more color options in wide widths as more customers are choosing them due to the shoe running narrow.

Why So Narrow?

Originally posted on Home Tester Club

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had the opportunity of trying these shoes on in the store, and I’m so disappointed that they run so narrow. I’m a full 2X with and it seems like people with wide feet are just being forgotten by shoe manufacturers… Please go back to the sizing of the Ghost Max 3, my favorite shoe of all time.

Disappointed with the toe box.

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

I have always loved Brooks but I've become pretty disappointed with the shoes recently. Why did you narrow the toe box?! These Ghost Max 4s have a noticeably narrower toe box than the Ghost Max 3s (or any other Brooks shoe I have had before). So narrow that my toes are pinched uncomfortably. If you enjoy a little wiggle room or a roomier toe box do not buy the Ghost Max 4s.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My initial reaction compared to my other ghost shoes is that they are very light. The box itself felt extremely light. The laces are very short on these shoes, compared to my others. The width is good on the wide and the shoe looks nice. I haven’t had it long enough to be able to know whether it’s better than the other ones. I wish they would include more colors on the wide ones.

Amazing shoes

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Ghost Max 4 are more comfortable than their predecessors. This is my 10th pair of Ghost Max shoes. They are all comfortable but these even top the order models. They seem lighter and even more cushioned. I highly rate them for plantar fasciitis, bunions, lots of walking. I can wear these all day and my feet do not hurt even after walking 20,000 steps.

So comfortable

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow, these feel incredibly comfortable and super lightweight. I also really like the rocker bottom. I recently had ORIF ankle surgery and needed a good pair of shoes for when I can begin walking without a boot and I chose these and so glad that I did. I am also really happy to have wide options available to work with the swelling. The colors are awesome too!

Amazing shoes

The Goldilocks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am super impressed with these shoes! My feet feel very supported when I wear them to both exercise and run errands. They are cushiony without being overly foamy. They are the perfect width, especially when comparing to some other brands that run wider. I love the colors as well! These are easily becoming my go-to sneaker.

Pregnancy feet approved

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pregnancy feet are a whole thing, and these shoes honestly made my final months way more manageable. I was doing a lot of walking on my walking pad and I kept reaching for these because they just made everything feel easier. They’ve got that really nice cushioned feel without being mushy. Walking in them feels soft on impact, like my feet aren’t taking the brunt of every step, and I never ended a walk with that usual ache I’d get from other shoes. What I also noticed is how smooth they feel to walk in. There’s this easy roll from heel to toe that makes everything feel more natural, almost like you don’t have to think about your stride as much. They feel really stable too, which mattered a lot for me especially with pregnancy balance being what it is. My foot felt secure in them, not shifting around or anything, just supported. They also didn’t feel picky about my foot shape or anything. I could see them working well for a lot of different people. Overall, they’ve been my go-to for long walks and just being on my feet in general. Way less fatigue at the end of the day, which has been huge. Brooks has honestly been my steady brand through both pregnancies because they just keep delivering on comfort and support without overthinking it.

Great universal shoe

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I began running a year and a half ago and have tested several brands of shoes to find what works best for me. These are my new favorite. They have so many great features! They run true to size and feel perfectly supportive. My feet are cushioned but not weighed down. I can pronate but these keep my stride aligned and facilitate a smooth heel to toe transition. I felt the difference on the first run and have gotten better with each go! They've also been perfect for walking. I love the style. They are sleek with a run pop of color! I'm so glad I found these!

Great shoe for all day running and walking

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this shoe for running and walking throughout a busy day. The shoe feels cushioned but is more firm than other more cushioned running shoes I’ve tried in the past. My knees and hips feel great during my run as the cushioning does a good job reducing impact. I’ve worn these on both the treadmill and road running and they’ve worked great with both and I’ve felt it provides good support throughout my runs. Running feels natural and easy to move heel to toe. I’ve had some foot issues over the past few months and have found that I feel no pain or issues while wearing this shoes and have picked these over my other running shoes since they support where my foot normally hurts a little better. The only con I’ve noticed is that the design hits at a strange place by my ankle and if I wear them all day, I notice it’s a little tender, but it’s not noticeable for even a long run. I will buy these again when it’s time for new running shoes.

Perfect Versatile Shoes

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These shoes are supportive, comfortable and versatile. I pop these on in the morning, go outside for a run, chase my toddler around at the park, go grocery shopping, and then run around in them with my toddler some more. My feet feel great at the end of the day. I have higher arches and the top part of my foot is very sensitive, so I’m picky about my running shoes. So far, these make my feet (and knees) feel supported during runs and walks outside and on the treadmill. I love that they feel cushioned and stable while also still feeling lightweight. Size 7.5 (medium width) fits me great. I’m normally a size 7, but I always go half a size up for running shoes. I’m looking forward to start my half marathon training in these!

Officially a Brooks fan!

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my Ghost Max 4s! I wasn’t sure at first how I’d feel about the extra cushioning, but now I’m completely sold. The extra support is a feature I’ll definitely be looking for in all my future walking and running shoes. From the moment I started walking in them, they felt incredibly comfortable. Once I put them on for a run, I was even more impressed. I enjoy running for my workouts and run about 20 miles a week. The cushioning and support make every stride feel smoother, and running feels more natural and effortless than ever. These shoes truly help take the impact out of running! One detail that I really like is the feel of the laces. They stay securely tied and locked in place, so I never have to worry about stopping mid-workout to retie them. Overall, the Ghost Max 4s have exceeded my expectations and quickly become my favorite pair of running shoes!

Impressive Comfort, Style, and Weight

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been really impressed with these shoes so far. The first thing I noticed was how much cushioning they have. Looking at them, you'd expect them to feel heavy because of the thick sole, but they're actually surprisingly lightweight. When I'm walking or jogging, it feels like there's very little impact on my joints because of how much cushion they provide. They're also true to size, which is always a plus. I usually have to buy wide shoes, but these have plenty of room without feeling too loose or restrictive. The fit is comfortable right out of the box. One thing I really appreciate is how smoothly they roll from heel to toe when walking. It just feels natural. I have plantar fasciitis, and the arch support has been great. Normally I can feel some soreness after jogging, but I didn't have any foot pain or discomfort after wearing these. I've worn them on a treadmill, on paved roads, and even on gravel, and they've been comfortable on every surface. They provide a lot of support and cushioning no matter where I'm using them. I also like how breathable they are. My feet don't feel hot or sweaty after exercising, which isn't always the case with heavily cushioned shoes. The look of the shoe is another bonus. I really like the color, and they go well with just about anything, whether I'm wearing workout clothes or just casual clothes around town. They will also stay clean for a long time because they are dark in color. I've actually gotten several compliments on them since I started wearing them. I think they make my feet look small, even though I wear a 9.5. Some shoes make my feet look HUGE. Overall, these are some of the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a long time. Between the cushioning, support, breathability, and fit, they've been great for both exercise and everyday wear. I'm taking a trip to Disney in October, and these will definitely be packed in my suitcase because I know they'll handle long days on my feet without a problem.

Ghost Max 4

Originally posted on brooksrunning.com

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a huge fan of Brooks shoes, I walk/run consistently and Brooks have always been my first choice. I have been wearing the Ghost Max 4 for about 2 weeks now and I wear them everywhere. I have done walking but haven’t had the chance to use them to run in just yet. The cushion has been just right, the last Brooks I wore had a little too much cushion for me, so I really liked less cushion in the Ghost Max 4. I have had to wear the Ghost Max 4 for 10 hours straight and my foot was perfectly comfortable, my knees didn’t hurt or my back. These have been my new favorite shoes. The only thing I would say is the first few days they felt very narrow and a little tight, after about a week they stretched just enough that my toes don’t feel squished anymore. Overall I love these shoes.
