Takes a Bit to Get Used To
Originally posted on Merrell
No, I don't recommend this
I bought these shoes about a month ago. At first, I wasn’t sure how much I would like them because the fabric on the top of the shoe was so thin that I could feel where it connects to the hard toe part of the shoe when I lifted my toes. It was annoying enough that I considered returning them, but after a few days, I got used to it. The shoes are comfortable, and I don’t really notice it anymore.

I expected more than 3 months

I've gotten tired of replacing cheap shoes every 5-6 months, and my Merrel boots have gone through several hiking seasons without even beginning to show wear, so I figured I'd try some Merrels for daily driving. Bought a pair of these in July, and the tread is completely toast by October. For the price I was expecting more durability, especially as park-walkers. Uppers are in great shape, but the tread on the entire forefoot is gone. Maybe 75-100 miles on them on such surfaces as bark chips, sidewalks, and grass.

I’m ordering a second pair now because I’ve loved this shoe. The comfort and durability are superior and worth the cost

I did buy these about a month ago. I love the comfort and sturdy construction of the Merrel shoes. I do wish the toe box was a little wider, but that is more my foot then the shoes

I love them, even more than std Moab’s. Nice solid shoe, great for trails or just walking around.

Great looking shoe, great feel- but . .

Love the look and quality of the shoe, and the wide toebox works for me. However, I get nasty blisters on the soles of my feet after long walks, particularly on the left foot. So, this shoe will only be a short walk shoe for unfortunately.

Moab Speed 2 Just Okay

I got the Moab speed 2 about a month ago. I am an 11 and a half, and that's what I bought, and these have been a little tight on my feet. The treads also seem to be wearing down faster than expected.

Great shoes, disappointing linings.

Great looking uppers and long lasting soles. This is my third pair of Merrells, having bought two pair of the Moab hikers, and they are the most comfortable shoes I have worn. I am disappointed in how quickly the counter linings have worn in this pair, or I would give them a 5. I glued some leather patches inside to keep wearing them.

Really like these. They are light, fit well, and comfortable. I haven't used then enough to comment on durability.

These shoes are great -- they fit well and tight to my feet, are very comfortable to walk/hike in, and look great. The traction is so good on some surfaces that it took me a little while to get used to. As a long time Merrell customer, these shoes do not disappoint.

I decided to take only one pair of shoes on my trip to Germany and France this summer ... so far the Speed2 is up to the task. A ton of walking and hiking ... basically all day in these shoes. No issues and very comfy.

Was looking for a more rugged trail shoe and decided to give these Moab Speed 2 a try. I have found them to be very comfortable and stable whether walking trails or sidewalks. Now let's see how durable the sole will be.

Moab lite
Originally posted on Merrell
Comfortable shoe, but not the outstanding alternative to the Moab that I expected after reading reviews. If you like the Moab then you'll love this shoe which for me fit just like the Moab but lighter and more flexible. After recently using some lower drop trail shoes, the 10mm heal to toe drop bothered me a little. For some reason these shoes, and the Moab, slap the pavement whereas other trail shoes do not. The toebox fit is just like the Moab - a little tight - but the flexible upper helps to relieve some pressure, although the top gathers in a wrinkle over the toebox. Overall a nice alternative shoe for short hikes and around town but won't be my go-to hiker.
