Nice Backpack

Works great for what I need. The zippers feel strong, and the quality of the materials is apparent. I love the top pocket, which is convenient for small items such as my phone. I use it 5 days a week and two months in, it’s been great.

Fjällräven Skule 20 & Skule 28 – Almost One Year L
Originally posted on Fenix Outdoor

I've been using both the Skule 20 and Skule 28 for almost a year, and together they have become the backpack system I compare everything else against. Over the past year I've tested and compared them with several popular alternatives, including The North Face Borealis (Women's and Luxe versions), Haglöfs Järve Multi 28, Doughnut Macaroon models, Kånken variants, and a number of other backpacks. Every time I tried something new, I ended up appreciating the Skules even more. The reason is simple: they fit the way I like to pack. The Skule 20 is my choice for lighter days. It's comfortable, surprisingly spacious for its size, and easy to grab when I don't need to carry much. The only downside is that it can lose its shape a little when it's not full. The Skule 28 is my larger everyday backpack. What I appreciate most is the roomy main compartment. Unlike many modern backpacks with dedicated laptop sections and complex organization, the Skule 28 feels open and flexible. I never feel like I'm fighting for space or trying to arrange everything perfectly to make it fit. The one thing I'd improve on both bags is the laptop organization. The sleeve works, but a dedicated laptop compartment would be more convenient. That's the main reason I could see myself considering a Fjällräven Raven 28 someday. However, that's a future consideration rather than a current need. After almost a year of daily use, my conclusion is simple: Skule 20 for light days. Skule 28 for heavier days. Together they cover everything I need, and I haven't found a backpack that makes me want to replace them. Reliable, comfortable, durable, and refreshingly simple. Sometimes the best backpack is the one you stop thinking about because it just works. 🌲🎒

Love this but ...

I needed a large backpack, preferably with several pockets, for a day's excursion and this was just right. BUT I had assumed that such a good quality bag, selling itself for the outdoors, would be waterproof. This wasn't the case when I got caught in a deluge. But in the bag's defense I learn that practically no backpack lays claim to this. So I have forgiven it and bought a separate waterproof cover.

Exceeds my highest expectations.

The amount a pouches and zippered areas in the backpack exceeded my expectations. I really loved my old backpack and was worried the Skule 28 might not have everything I loved about my old one. Worry no more. The fabric feels great. It can tighten up nicely with the straps and elastics so it stays tight on your back but expands to fit everything you'd need to really max out its capacity. I stuffed 8 kg of groceries in it for a bike ride and the shoulder straps were comfy the whole time. I am very very happy with my purchase.

After two years I still love this bag!

I bought this bag for a trip to India in 2024 as a replacement for my previous backpack after I wore it down to the point of not return. So needless to say I am extremely picky about daily use bags. The 28L goes with me EVERYWHERE. I LOVE this bag. Would absolutely recommend. It’s super spacious, light, and has a lot of compartments for organizing. My favorite part is the small pocket by the base of the neck. Perfect for wallet and passport. I’m a small person as well 5’2” female and the 28L is still a great size. I’m very rough with my things and it’s still going strong after two years! The only thing I will say is that the lighter colored bags do stain and build up grime so take that into consideration. I love the color (terracotta), it looks just like the pictures, but if I were to choose again I probably would have gonna with the black bag to avoid this issue. I plan on purchasing again, years down the line when this one gets worn down.

Nice bag for commuting and travel

So far loving the Skule 28. Just enough capacity as carry-on for travel to not be overly stuffed while being slim enough to not look like I'm hiking when taking it into work. Good fit for laptop. I always like internal organizing pockets and this one is a bit lacking on that front, but the front pocket offers good room for smaller things and organizers. The material also seems to be good quality so far- lots of other bag brands I had been looking at seemed to shift to lower quality lining materials and even for the outer shell, so I'm happy with this one so far.

Holds a lot. Perfect commute bag. The cross straps can interfere with the main zipper but this is minor. The chest strap seems a bit short as it’s tight when I use it in full length. I like the straps on the back to stash a jacket or similar.

No, I don't recommend this
I’ve enjoyed the bag but it’s falling apart on the bottom after about 2.5 years of use as my school bag. I’d expect a longer use for the price as seemingly lower quality and cheaper bags have lasted longer with the same weight and general use.
